According to the Mayo Clinic, olive oil has health benefits.
It is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), which are healthy. They may help lower
the risk of heart disease. For instance, MUFAs may lower cholesterol levels, and help
normalize blood clotting. Olives and their oil can also “benefit insulin levels and blood
sugar control, which can be especially helpful if you have type 2 diabetes.”
